The currency of Hong Kong is the Hong Kong Dollar. This is pegged to the US Dollar at within a tight range which averages at 7.75 HKD to 1 USD. This is a long standing relationship and there are no real signs of the Peg being cut.

As the peg to the USD has pulled down the value of the HKD relative to say the Euro GBP or AUD, so investing now would seem to offer a discount on historical norms. In the event of a USD rally over the next few years, then equity, relative to the currency of original investment and presumably ultimate repatriation, will appreciate. Conversely, the reverse is also true.
